Living in Florida during the holiday season doesn’t always bring out the most traditional feels that is most associated with this time of year. We don’t see snow or put our mittens on to go outside. We aren’t rushing home for a hot cup of cocoa or to warm up next to the cozy fireplace.

But all that doesn’t mean you can’t get into the comforts of the holiday spirit in your tropical home!

Here are a few quick ways to bring some festiveness into your home:

 

Lights – They’re not just for Christmas trees or your outside on your bushes! With battery powered lights, you can put them anywhere! Adding a touch of lights to wrap around your banister, windows or doorway sets a great mood for the room.

Candles – Not only do candles set a warm tone and mood for your home, but you can also use them to bring in the fragrances of the season! Perhaps a warm apple pie reminds you of being home for the holidays, or the fresh scent of a Christmas tree. Let the aromas take you to wherever you want to be!

Home Décor – Blankets & throw pillows are an easy way to add some holiday accent to your home. You don’t have to go overboard decorating with knick-knacks and other space-takers. They are a lovely addition to any room in your home, and they’re easy to store during the rest of the year as well!

Greenery – Adding fresh cut greens, wreaths and other holiday plants is always a great idea! Not only will live flowers and plants bring fresh air into your home, they also bring an aesthetic feel to your home.
